Those students who study the specialty “World Economy” graduate from the Department of World Economy. Organized in 1996 on the basis of two departments of the Faculty – the Department of Foreign Countries’ Economy and the Department of International Economic Relations – the Department of World Economy can be traced to the Department of Modern Capitalism Economy long time headed by an outstanding scientist and public figure, Professor S.I. Tuilpanov. Four Doctors and nineteen Candidates of sciences work in the Department today. Head of the Department is Professor, Doctor of Economics Sergey Felixovich Sutyrin. For the students mastering the speciality "World Economy" the first three years’ curriculum includes core general educational and professional disciplines such as: sociology, economic history of Russia and foreign countries, world economy, international economic relations, marketing, a cycle of legal disciplines and other subjects. Besides students become proficient in modern methods of the electronic analysis of statistical information and study investment calculations. Additional attention in the Department is given to learning foreign languages. Students master English, German, and French. During the language studying process the emphasis is made on economic and business specificity. In the framework of the chosen specialization students attend special courses such as: Russian external economic policy, Risks’ insurance of the foreign economic activities, Logistics in a multinational corporation, Competitiveness of export goods, International tax planning, Strategic planning in marketing. |
